Water Ski Algae Report
As of 25th June 2008 due to a high population of blue-green algae the Reservoir is now subject to an
inspection before use. An inspection will be carried out by one of the
inspectors in the Ski Club. If
there
has been no inspection you will be unable to ski as the gate will remain locked.
The following is to be carried out until further notice.
One of the above inspectors will assess the water before skiing can commence and mark out on the blackboard the areas to be avoided. We will try to do this around our skiing times where possible and fill in the appropriate paper work. The inspector MUST stay on site while skiing is in progress. If the inspector has to leave site then all personnel and boats MUST be removed from the water and the slipway gate will be locked with the new algae padlock. You may continue to ski if another inspector takes over. There are also several other inspectors from other clubs who can authorise use of the reservoir but the same will apply; if the inspector leaves ALL personnel / boats must leave the water and the slipway gate will be locked. Please understand these rules are from Anglian Water and must be adhered too.
